Here we are - it’s 2019!

I’m beaming big huge Happy New Year vibes at you. I hope you are relaxing with your family.

In our Simplify week to kick off the year we are starting with something that might have made me break out in hives a few years ago, but now I recognise that the only way to create change is to plan for the change and commit.

So let’s talk about planning for a simpler year.

In order to do this, I’d like you to consider some important questions. I’ve created a Planning for Simple worksheet for you write out the answers. Download it here.

Let’s get real with ourselves and spend time mapping out exactly what simplifying means to us.

Lunchboxes!

If you or anyone in your household leaves home to work or go to school - we have some cracker new recipes for you to experiment with.

For those parents of school ages children I’m sure we all agree that the criteria is:

Healthy and wholesome

Gets eaten

Choose Your Word

A short video for you today explaining my favourite New Year ritual!

Each year I choose a feeling to help guide my decisions (sometimes it’s more than one word). I do this instead of writing goals.

I think about how I want to FEEL and allow that to be my focus. If you’ve completed Small Steps Back to You you’ll be familiar with this exercise - the New Year is a perfect time to reevaluate.

Watch the video where I explain and then use the list of feelings words to help inspire your choice. Don’t choose too many - four would be the maximum I recommend.

January Outstanding Member - Nicole Jenkins

Well, that’s January almost done….. WHAT!?

I am thrilled that you are here, and to be helping you shape YOUR awesome 2019. It won’t look like anyone else’s, nor should it. But my hope is that we’ll have kicked some common goals as a group. Things like speaking more kindly to ourselves, improving our family’s health by improving the food we buy and eat, moving a little more, saying YES to things that matter and NO to things that don’t.

But this week, we stop and celebrate.

I’d love to know a Small Step that you are celebrating from this month?

Reflecting on something positive from the month (or week, or day, or year!) has such a profound effect on the way we feel - it’s why there’s a dedicated CELEBRATE week each month.

And of course - we celebrate a superstar Small Stepper. This month it is Nicole Jenkins.

Nicole is a newer Small Steps Member and the team want to congratulate her on the small steps she’s taken. From sourcing local wholefoods and pantry staples, to identifying stories and working on her mindset, we’ve loved seeing her posts over the last few months. She is also a wonderful cheerleader to others in the group. Thank you Nicole, and keep up the Small Steps! The team will be in touch about your gift.
