Milk kefir is a fantastic fermented product which can be used in a number of ways. It is much like a thin drinking yoghurt, with a faint “fizz” on your tongue. Readily available in a lot of supermarkets, make sure you look for one that is made with minimal ingredients (ideally just milk and cultures). In this smoothie recipe, the kefir gives a great probiotic boost.
- • ½ cup milk kefir
- • ½ cup milk of choice
- • 1 frozen banana
- • handful frozen mango
- • 2 handfuls baby spinach
- Blend all ingredients together and enjoy!
· Frozen fruit will make your smoothie thicker, but it’s fine to use fresh fruit. You can also add ice if you want a thicker, colder smoothie.
· To add more staying power to this as a breakfast option, you could also add a handful of rolled oats or cashews, or some avocado.
